What’s New for the 2026 Kia EV9?
The 2026 Kia EV9 is the ultimate electrified midsize SUV. It offers space for up to eight passengers, modern styling, an impressive range, and an exciting combination of features. In 2026, the EV9 is a mid-generation vehicle that introduces a new charging port, a Nightfall Edition package, and a new trim level.
The new trim level is the GT. Now, the trim levels from the base up include the Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT. The EV9 GT has a pair of electric motors that deliver 501 horsepower. It offers standard all-wheel drive, simulated engine sounds, larger brakes, an electronically controlled adaptive suspension, and an electric limited-slip differential.
The entry-level Light trim has a single-motor unit with rear-wheel drive. It delivers 215 horsepower and has a 230-mile range. The Light Long Range has the same setup and a 305-mile range. The Wind and Land are the first trims in the lineup to feature two motors and all-wheel drive. This is a 379-horsepower system that has a 283-mile range. The GT-Line features all-wheel drive, a 379-horsepower output, and a 280-mile range.
The EV9 is distinctly modern with a squared-off shape and side windows that angle upward at the rear. The flared, molded fenders have sharp corners, and the lower doors are dressed up with an edgy, dark ledge. At the front end, the body-colored grille has an innovative crease extending between the headlights. Exterior features available with the EV9 are raised roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, up to 21-inch wheels, auto-dimming side mirrors, and other features.
The new GT trim level is appointed with synthetic suede upholstery, a sport steering wheel, sport front seats, and all of the features available in the lower trim levels. Select or all lower trim levels come with rear window sunshades, ambient cabin lights, heated front and rear seats, second-row captain’s chairs, sound-reducing glass, a digital rear mirror, an automated parking system, a head-up display, massaging functions for the driver’s seat, a Meridian sound system with 14 speakers, a wireless hotspot, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 5-inch screen for the climate control system, and more.
