Ed Voyles Auto Group
Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee has been giving away prepaid car leases to local teachers of distinction for close to a decade, and in 2014, the group gave them to five exceptional teachers from the surrounding  school districts. It expects to do the same in 2015.

According to the Ed Voyles Group, the idea of giving free vehicles to top teachers stems from a Teacher of the Year luncheon some Ed Voyles employees attended in 2003.

"All of us at the table could name a teacher growing up that was special to us," And we thought 'Wouldn't it be cool if we could now really make a teacher's year special?' Right then we started coming up with a way to show our appreciation of teachers, too."

At an awards ceremony, each instructor, who has been honored as a teacher of the year in their district, draws a numbered ball from a paper bag, and the number on the ball corresponds to the brand from which the teacher will choose.

The teacher is free to pick any new vehicle out of inventory, regardless of price, to have as their free car for the year.

"One year, a teacher who won picked out an the entry model,She wanted the least expensive option because she didn't want to burden the dealership with the higher cost. That shows the selflessness of teachers. We were finally able to convince her to take the top-of-the-line model. She certainly deserved it."

The Ed Voyles dealer group pays the taxes and fees for each winner's vehicle, and also covers the prices of the vehicle services.

KIA Brand Leads the Industry in New Car Quality

 Kia Leads All Non-Premium Nameplates
Big news this year is the Kia brand lead the industry in averaging the fewest problems per 100 vehicles--only 86 PP100, which is 11 fewer PP100 than in the 2014 study. Kia nameplate rank second to only Porsche among the top five brands in initial quality this year. In addition, Kia, for the first time in the study's 29-year history, leads all non-premium nameplates in initial quality.

The Kia brand outperforms the Japanese and U.S.-based, or domestic, brands as well.

Japanese Brands Fall below Industry Average for First Time
"For so long, Japanese brands have been viewed by many as the gold standard in vehicle quality," said Renee Stephens, vice president of U.S. Automotive at J.D. Power, who notes that the Kia make is really accelerating the rate of improvement. "They're stepping up the improvements on existing models, but are also working up front to launch vehicles with higher quality."
2015 Initial Quality Study Rankings

At the brand level, Porsche (80 PP100) and Kia (86 PP100) rank highest among all nameplates included in the 2015 Initial Quality Study. Kia reduces its average PP100 score by a significant 20 PP100.
